"The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."

"To grant that there is a supreme intelligence who rules the world and has established laws to regulate the actions of his creatures; and still to assert that man, in a state of nature, may be considered as perfectly free from all restraints of law and government, appears to a common understanding altogether irreconcilable. "It is emphatically the province and duty of the Judicial Department to say what the law is. Those who apply the rule to particular cases must, of necessity, expound and interpret that rule. If two laws conflict with each other, the Courts must decide on the operation of each. So, if a law be in opposition to the Constitution, if both the law and the Constitution apply to a particular case, so that the Court must either decide that case conformably to the law, disregarding the Constitution, or co"

"The province of the Court is solely to decide on the rights of individuals . . . . Questions, in their nature political or which are, by the Constitution and laws, submitted to the Executive, can never be made in this court."

The bike-riding scene was shot on the first full day of the 14-day Caribbean shoot. Rock lore has it that it was during the filming of this sequence that George Harrison was approached by a Krishna follower and given a book about Hare Krishna that would spark Harrison’s fascination with eastern spiritualism.
